Privacy Policy

The Creators Wiki reads creator analytics through official, read-only platform APIs so brands can trust the numbers on a profile. We never sell or misuse your data.

1Overview

The Creators Wiki is a verified registry of creators and the brands that work with them. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the control you have over it.

We keep data collection deliberately narrow: we ask for what is needed to verify a profile, display trustworthy reach numbers, and let brands reach creators. We do not build advertising profiles and we do not operate a data business.

2Information we collect

We only collect information you give us or that is required to run the registry:

  • Account details: name, email address, password (stored hashed by our authentication provider) and role.
  • Profile details you submit: display name, handle, niche, language, country, bio, profile image and collaboration contact details.
  • Verification and campaignography details: past brand collaborations, links to live posts, and any proof submitted for review.
  • Payment details: processed by Stripe. We receive a transaction record — amount, currency, status, and the last four digits of the card — never your full card number.
  • Technical data: device and browser type, pages viewed, and log data such as IP address, kept for security and abuse prevention.

3Connected platforms and read-only analytics

When a creator connects a channel, we use the official Meta Instagram Graph API and the YouTube Data API to read their public performance data. This access is read-only.

The metrics we read are limited to what a creator needs to prove their reach: follower or subscriber counts, post, reel and video view counts, average reach across recent posts, and engagement figures. We calculate the averages displayed on a card or profile from those figures.

We never post, edit, delete, follow, message or change anything on a connected account, and we never request your platform password. Access is granted through the platform's own OAuth consent screen and can be revoked at any time from that platform's settings, which immediately ends our ability to read new data.

4How we use your information

  • To publish and verify your registry profile, including the badge, placement and reach metrics shown to visitors and brands.
  • To calculate and display creator insights such as followers, average reach and engagement rate.
  • To process verification, boost and subscription payments and to issue receipts.
  • To let verified brands contact creators — contact details are released only to holders of an active CreatorsWiki Pro subscription or to the profile's owner.
  • To send service emails such as verification codes, payment confirmations, review decisions and security notices.
  • To detect fraud, abuse and duplicate or misrepresented profiles, and to comply with applicable law.

5What we never do with your data

We do not sell, rent, trade or license your personal data or your connected-platform analytics to anyone. We do not share creator contact details with third parties for their own marketing, and we do not use connected-platform data to target advertising on the creator's behalf.

Analytics we display are shown publicly on the registry as part of a creator's profile. That is the purpose the creator consents to when connecting a channel — nothing more.

6Who we share data with

We share only what is necessary with service providers who process data on our behalf under contract: our application hosting and database provider, Stripe for payments, and our email delivery provider. These providers may not use your data for their own purposes.

We may also disclose information where required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights and safety of creators, brands or the public. We do not sell data as part of any merger, acquisition or asset sale, and we would notify you before any transfer of personal data to a new controller.

7Retention and security

We keep your account and profile data for as long as your profile is listed. If you delete your profile, we remove your public registry record and contact details; we may retain payment records and minimal log data where the law requires it.

Data is transmitted over HTTPS, passwords are stored hashed, access to production data is restricted to authorised administrators, and payment card data never touches our servers. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

8Your rights and control

  • Access and correction: view and edit your profile details from your dashboard at any time.
  • Disconnect: revoke our access to a connected platform from that platform's own security settings.
  • Deletion: delete your profile from your dashboard, or email us to have your account and records removed.
  • Communication: opt out of non-essential email while continuing to receive essential service messages.
  • Complaint: raise a concern with us first, and with your local data protection authority if we cannot resolve it.

9Cookies and local storage

We use cookies and local storage that are strictly necessary to keep you signed in, remember your session and protect forms against abuse. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking pixels.

10Children

The registry is intended for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18; if you believe a minor has created a profile, contact us and we will remove it.

11Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the registry evolves. Material changes will be announced on this page with a new effective date, and where the change affects how we use connected-platform data we will ask affected creators to review it.
